DR.
CK PRAHALAD is currently the Harvey C Fruehauf Professor
of Business Administration at the University of Michigan’s
Graduate Business School, where he specializes in corporate strategy
and the study of top management in multinational corporations. He
completed his D.B.A. from Harvard University in 1975 and is a visiting
research fellow there. He has also been a Professor at the Indian
Institute of Management as well as a Visiting Professor at INSEAD
(European Institute of Business Administration). Dr. Prahalad consults
with top management firms such as: Ahlstrom, AT&T, Cargill,
Citicorp, Colgate Palmolive, Eastman Chemical, Honeywell, ICL, Oracle,
Philips, Quatum, Revlon, Steelcase, TRW and Unilever. He has written
numerous books, including Competing for the Future, which became
a best-seller, as well as articles and essays, many of which he
has received awards for. Judah Levine wrote this business case under
the guidance and supervision of his graduate advisor, Dr. Prahalad,
who provided strategic direction and support to the GIVN team during
the development of this project.
