Mr. Muleta is a consultant specializing in telecommunication, IT, and broadcasting. Since 1999, he has worked in senior advisory positions with several leading companies entering international markets and launching new products. A partial list of clients includes: MTN Nigeria, NineSystems Corporation, VeriSign, USDTV, CSX FN, Wisor Telecom, All Africa Media Group, The Government of the Netherlands Antilles, First Avenue Networks, and Capital Technology Advisors.

Mr. Muleta has expertise in product marketing, business development, channel management, and finance/accounting. He has demonstrated a keen ability to lead and improve the performance of diverse cross-functional departments and teams within complex organizations.

From 1997 to 1999, Mr. Muleta was Director of Business Affairs and Business Development for PBS The Business Channel, a for-profit subsidiary of The Public Broadcasting Service. The company engages in the production, sourcing and distribution of distance learning content worldwide. In this capacity, he structured, negotiated, and drafted: talent, content, and production agreements; technical services contracts; joint venture and alliance agreements; satellite operations, distribution, and transmission contracts; as well as various other types of agreements with program providers and other partners.

Prior to PBS, Mr. Muleta was with Cable & Wireless, Inc., where he was business development manager of its Cable & Wireless Internet eXchange unit (1996-97) and manager of marketing services in the General Business Unit Marketing Group (1995-96).

Mr. Muleta is also the co-founder of the Higher Education Wireless Access Consortium (HEWAC) the only member-driven organization solely focusing on wireless technology for higher education.

Mr. Muleta speaks English and Amharic (Ethiopian) fluently and has a working knowledge of Spanish. He holds a BSc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Virginia, as well as MBA from the Darden Graduate School of Management at the University of Virginia.
